If some milk has gone bad in your refrigerator, don't throw it away! Pour a small amount of water into the milk container, and swish it around; then bring it outside, and pour it into a hanging basket of flowers, onto a vegetable bed, or under a rose bush. This will provide food for the worms in your garden — worms thrive on the protein in milk, and you can pretend you let the milk go bad on purpose to feed your worms. What a good worm farmer you are!
You can do the same thing with sour cream, or yogurt that has gone bad, but you'll need to add a bit more water, so that you end up with something that looks like coffee cream — you certainly don't want lumps of yogurt lying around your yard!
Worms are essential to a healthy garden: they aerate the soil, so that oxygen can get to the roots of your plants, and their droppings are wonderful fertilizer. So, cherish your worms, and feed them sour milk.
